Paul is recognised for independent judgement, evidence-based decision-making, and the ability to chair complex, multi-stakeholder groups with transparency and authority.
He has a proven track record of holding organisations to account on environmental performance, risk, compliance, community impact and reporting — while maintaining constructive relationships with operators, regulators and other stakeholders.
Paul has been a board Member/Director/Trustee of the following organisations:
London Sustainable Development Commissioner for the Greater London Authority (2010-2024).
Appointed by the Mayor of London, Boris Johnson and served two terms of Sadiq Khan. Renamed in 2023 London Climate and Sustainability Commission.

- Chair of LSDC’s Quality of Life Indicators Group overseeing a series of publication documenting London’s performance
- Chair of London’s reporting against UN SDGs (the most comprehensive city assessment and resulted in the GLA’s Health and Wellness Indicators)
- Member of Greater London Authority’s Carbon Measurement Steering Group that created the award winning PAS 2070
- Chair of London’s ‘Access to Nature for children’ Steering Group.
British Aviation Group (BAG) - Elected board member (2022-24).
BAG is the trade association representing the international and domestic aviation supply chain. As Chair of its Environmental Working Group Paul helped revitalise the group with a strong programme of events on climate resilience, PAS 2080 and Airport Carbon Accreditation.
Balfour Beatty plc - Trustee of Building Better Futures (2015-2016).
Paul was a trustee and held strategic relationships with the charities partners – Coram, The Prince’s Trust, Action for Children, and London Youth Games. Provided oversight and scrutiny of the donations and outcomes.
In addition, Paul managed the relationship with the Duke of Edinburgh award scheme. As part of their training and career development apprentices were encouraged to complete the gold scheme.
Redmond Group Limited - Non-executive Director (2018-2022).
Redmond Group a family run mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) business working for main contractors in the London area on major projects such as the Imperial College White City development.
BeOnsite (Lendlease) - Director (2008-2010).
A not-for-profit company, established by Lendlease, to deliver employer-led training for the Bovis Lendlease (main contracting division of Lendlease) supply chain creating employment opportunities for the social disadvantaged.
BeOnsite was one of five key pillars of the award winning sustainability strategy that Paul established. As a director Paul oversaw the strategic alignment between BeOnsite and the construction part of LendLease.
Article 13 Limited - Director and Non-executive Director (1998-2011)
Whilst at WWF-UK Paul became a non-executive director (1998-2003) to help the founders grow the corporate governance and CSR consultancy. He later became an executive director winning and delivering projects, before returning to a non-executive role in 2007, resigning in 2011.
